Also, I had a meeting with Assistant Superintendent Watkins today. I found it to be relatively beneficial, and to get a few things off my chest. I do have additional meetings planned. I addressed my concerns and listened to his feedback and the districts side of the story. One piece I do want to share with you is, that it is, from my understanding, Mr. Helke & the Superintendent’s understanding that teachers support, agree, and accept that they will be asked and expected to monitor the hallways and deal with all events, altercations, and fights that may occur. Yes, you may receive support from a social worker, associate principal, or dean. Teachers, if this does not describe your feelings, I encourage you to sign this petition (anonymously), spread the word, contact the school board, and/or send me an email at dostt1@isd191.org with feedback or ideas to get the students opinion clear and heard!
