I am a nursing associate student and have been told nursing associates are not entitled to the NHS bursary to help with living costs although we do placements and practical skills to enable us when we qualify to work as a bridge between health care assistants and nurses. All other nursing courses are receiving the grant and some other allied health courses, I feel this is very unfair to nursing associate students as we need to pay for our living expenses too, some people live alone, some people have children or mortgages to support whilst being a student and this grant would enable them to carry on as a student nursing associate and to feel more at ease with finances, some people work full time to support their families and have to give that up just as other nursing and allied health professionals students so I feel that we should be entitled to the grant to. It would be great if people could sign this petition so that we have a chance of getting the bursary too, thank you. Charlie
