The Issue

Good Day All,

The events of COVID-19 pandemic has impacted people on a global scale, and in 2020 the world essentially shut down as a means to fight this virus. It shut down jobs, schools, public events, family and friend gatherings, it put the countries into an economic crisis and shed light on some serious systemic social issues that plagues the world. We yearn for socialization, interaction and human connections after being apart for so long. The pandemic halted life events like engagement parties, wedding showers, baby showers, wedding ceremonies, holiday gatherings, religious services and events, graduation ceremonies and many other events. In a time where so much has changed and so much disrupted, the LIU (Brooklyn Campus) student body class of 2021 asks for a piece of normalcy and celebration to honor our graduates who have worked so hard to get where we are today. Please sign our petition to encourage the LIU school administration to have a departmental graduation for the class of 2021. Help us honor our students and celebrate this monumental occasion among our peers, family and friends. Thank you for being a part of this petition and making your voice heard.

Be safe, and be well.

From,

The Class of 2021. And to all my fellow graduates, CONGRATULATIONS! We did it!
