Concerned citizens of the Glen Road community are expressing outrage about the relocation of the Tobago Correctional Facility to our community. We stand united to directly oppose the jail and request its immediate removal. 

This jail compromises our safety. It has caused anxiety in our community. We are worried for our parents and children. We no longer feel safe in our homes. And our peaceful lives have been disrupted!

This facility was built for offices. It is in no way constructed on specs required for a jail/prison. The premises are not secured. We can look over into the grounds of the facility from our kitchens and living rooms, which likely means that prisoners can look over into our homes. At a minimum, they can observe our movements. This is distressing! 

Our concerns are endless but an important few include: 1) there is inadequate space for secure movement of prisoners to/from the building; 2) the Daisy Daycare is located a small parking lot away from facility; 3) our community is now blighted and our property values will drop.

We believe that placing a jail in Glen Road is irresponsible, unethical and possibly illegal. Our community implore your understanding of our concerns and request your immediate action to remove it.
