Stop Unethical and unlawful financial practices by Stripe Australia

The issue

I would like the payment platform stripe to change their current policy of not refunding the Merchant Fees back to customers and businesses in case of a refund. 

Think of a scenario where you spend $100 with a retailer and then have to return the items purchased to get a refund. If the retailer was using the stripe payment platform then you will only receive $95 as refund due to Stripe not refunding the merchant fees charged on the transaction, That is unusual practice as all other companies will refund the merchant fees on a refunded transaction.

I was charged nearly $1650 in merchant fees for payment of a large invoice that my customer paid accidentally via stripe. I checked the applicable fees at the time of enabling Stripe on the account and from the information provided it was my understanding that it was a small flat fee not a "Non-Capped" merchant fee. I refunded the customer but Stripe still charged me nearly $1650 in merchant fees. I called their so called customer service team mont times but they just keep repeating that "Its our Policy". Well that doesn't make it legal.

All Business owners and customers need to be aware of this predatory company using unethical and dubious practices to rip off customers and small businesses. It is outrageous behaviour and shameless conduct by a company that is aggressively promoted by accounting platforms like Xero to their unsuspecting customers .
