I am currently going through a divorce and have been completely devastated in learning that there are virtually no laws or consequences for a spouse or the mistress or misteress in my state (Michigan) due to this being a “No-Fault” state regarding divorce. I deeply care about this issue because no matter the sex of the married individual who can provide proof of the infidelity it is not right that outside individuals should have the right to assist in interfering in your legal union in the state that you reside whether you and your spouse are inside or outside the home. The legal union should be honored. I believe this change could assist in lowering the divorce rate along with having people take marriage more seriously than preying on others to their advantage, I unfortunately have been subjected to the emotional and mental distress of women interfering in my marriage knowing that I was married and if there were laws in place to protect the married woman or man that can provide proof of infidelity there should be some type of consequence such as the adulterer paying a monetary allotment of how long the marriage legally lasted or up to that same time being incarcerated. Why is this not made an issue in the legal system just like domestic violence, the recent abortion issue, or sexual assaults?
