It has been decided that Oak Hall in the Greenacres Centre is no longer going to be available for groups to utilise and will be changing this into the library.

This is going to impact many local groups including Gifford Dance Academy which teaches around 200 youngsters on an almost daily basis, Slimming World, local Personal trainers and hosts countless numbers of parties as well as the annual Christmas Civic carol service in December.

It seems apparent that the land which Stotfold library sits is to be used for housing, and whilst there are other premises in Stotfold which could be used, the council have decided to take away a buildings use for the community and spend thousands of pounds on work to make it fit for purpose. This is a decision that hasn’t been discussed with the local people and seems to have been hidden so nothing can change this decision
