#stopviolating

The Issue

Hello Potential, Current and Future Supporters:

I would first like to start by saying, as we all know, America spends billions of dollars annually on our penal systems and this could easily be changed by releasing more nonviolent drug offenders to become law-abiding, tax paying citizens.  I have read multiple news articles that informed me that a few of congress representatives have introduced two bills (specifically) to assist with our criminal justice system regarding the release of more nonviolent drug offenders.  The bills that were presented to address the unfairness and unjustly sentences that are imposed on African American and Hispanic Americans versus our counterparts.  The E.Q.U.A.L Act (2021-2022) was created to eliminate the mandatory minimum sentencing; however, it died because of the lack of votes accumulated by the House of Representatives and/or Senators.  The E.Q.U.A.L. Act bill had an enormous number of bipartisan votes as well as the only that was reintroduced to Congress; henceforth, why it should have not just sat on the Senate’s floor and died.  The American people (especially the incarcerated Americans) give our undivided and most focused attention, to the bills that are introduced to Congress, to ensure that bill(s) that will benefit us will not just go as introduced.  It is my belief that it is time to finish what was started (more than enough time) and pass these types of bills mentioned.  It is time to give nonviolent offenders a fair chance at becoming productive beacons in our society.  It is time to allow those that were convicted as nonviolent offenders to be able to get out and structure their own businesses in landscaping, construction, automotives, logistics, etc. We need to have a plan in place within those industries that may lack; due to the mass deportation that is coming our way.  It is time to give us a second chance to prove that we can pay our debts to society and come home and be the men of our households and stand on our own two feet as MEN in a productive way.  Which brings me to why you are in receipt of this letter.

#stopviolating was started because we are almost certain that this injustice didn’t just happen to nonviolent drug offenders in the federal court system, but others have endured this same fate in individual state's systems.  Most importantly, we would like to warn others to know their due process rights so that this won't happen to anyone else. We are looking to work with politicians, podcasters, bloggers, attorneys, paralegals, and/or law students that have a passion for taking a strong stance for the American people and their rights as well as upholding the laws of this country.  No one is above the law!

How are we going to combat this injustice?

We are going to urge Congress to revisit bills like the E.Q.U.A.L. Act and the First Step Implementation Act to bring more nonviolent offenders back home.  Let's take a STRONG stance together in what's lawfully right!  No matter your race, age, or gender (if you or someone you know that is fighting a nonviolent offense and would like to hold our government-elected officials accountable to speak for the American people, please join our fight to demand Congress to #stopviolating our American people's rights for a fair and just second chance immediately!  Also, we need immediate relief to those that have or are currently serving a significant amount of time on their erroneous sentence that was handed down.

This petition was designed for those that are currently incarcerated for:

  1. Bring back the Equal Act 2021-22
  2. Change the mandatory minimum for nonviolent drug offenders
  3. Make ALL 922(g) gun cases unconstitutional
  4. Hold government officials accountable for their actions (using false information for a conviction
  5. Eliminating the right to use hearsay rule in the court of law.
