Stop Year-Round Hunting in Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve

Stop Year-Round Hunting in Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve
The Issue
Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve in Clifton Park, NY, is a treasure of natural diversity and historic value. It is home to an abundance of wildlife, including over 200 species of birds and many other species of mammals, reptiles, and insects. In fact, the Audubon society has even designated Vischer Ferry to be an Important Bird Area, yet every October, for approximately one week, the town of Clifton Park closes the park to the public to allow duck hunting.
Those of us who enjoy the park AND the wildlife who live there are horrified that every year what should be a sanctuary to local wildlife becomes a killing grounds.
We hereby demand an immediate end to any hunting in the preserve, to protect our wildlife, history, and community’s enjoyment of this very special place. Please join us in urging the local authorities to implement this necessary change. Sign the petition today.
