Stop womyn born womyn fest from happening again. Known originally as mitchfest in Michigan

The Issue

Sadly they are making a comeback and rebranding themselves with a new name. Different name same transphobia as before. with trans hate crimes on the rise, they think it's more acceptable again to be like this so openly. I hope people protest.

To learn more about the origins of this festival and the controversy you can find that out here and the official website will be linked at the bottom for this transphobic festival that was started by Lisa Vogel.

"Lisa Vogel and a section of the radical feminist movement known as "TERFs"--or "trans-exclusionary radical feminists"--continue to defend their anti-trans positions and are not simply keeping their transphobic ideas and actions within the grounds of Michfest. Longtime Michfest supporter Cathy Brennan, for example, has worked to deny transgender people legal rights and protections, and she and others have promoted transphobic ideas through venues like the RadFem conference. Vogel, Brennan, and other TERFs, quite frankly, give feminism a bad name."-Judy Heithmar

"The issue first came to light in 1991 when attendee Nancy Burkholder was asked to leave MichFest after revealing that she was transsexual. The festival's official policy declares it open to "womyn-born-womyn" only, meaning men and transgender women are not allowed to attend or staff MichFest. This incident helped spark the Camp Trans movement, which holds its protest festival across the road from MichFest every year, drawing 100-200 attendees."
