This past year, Webster students have had a drastic decrease in student benefits, yet our tuition has increased at least 200 dollars since 2019. We have had consistent unclear messaging about where our money is going from the university. We demand answers.

List of Demands

1. Give us back our commuter points, and reimburse the students their 100 dollars who didn’t get their points this semester. The 100 dollars originally given to everyone for food each semester comes from our tuition. This year, they took our commuter points, yet our tuition is the same amount. Students and organizations have had to spend their own money to set up stands where students can eat for free. We should not have the burden of making sure our peers are fed.

2. Give us Adobe back. Adobe is ESSENTIAL for students, especially those in the School of Communications. This year, Adobe was taken away with the excuse that it was too expensive. This decision ignored that not all students can attend campus due to COVID and their health. It also ignores the fact that there are simply not enough computers with working Adobe on campus.

3. Tell us directly what happened with HEERF. The school was given 5 million for COVID relief to give to students, yet the amount given to students does not equal the entirety of that 5 million. We want to know where that money is going.

4. Stop price gouging students through parking tickets and booting cars. The university has wielded Webster Public Safety as a way to make money off of students. They have gone as far as to boot cars for minor violations.

Our tuition was raised, yet we are seeing less benefits. We refuse to be piggy banks the university can pick from as they please.
