Stop Waste Picking, vagrants and informal traders in Edenvale

Stop Waste Picking, vagrants and informal traders in Edenvale
The Issue
Our town is experiencing a significant increase in waste picking, vagrancy, and informal trading. These activities disrupt the peace and aesthetic of our environment, impacting the well-being of residents, property values, the profitability of local businesses, and the town's overall image. Our parks have been turned into dumping sites and squatter camps which the municipality does not maintain and law enforcement does not monitor. This has led to an increase in house break ins, wall jumping, theft, littering and total degradation in Edenvale.
According to the World Bank, cities with unchecked informal trading and waste picking risk exposing their citizens to public health dangers and increased crime rates. We believe in the importance of promoting sustainability and a thriving economy within our town. We call for an approach that upholds public order and cleanliness to stop our town from turning into squalor.
Waste picking should be addressed through efficient waste management systems and job creation initiatives.
Vagrants must be removed from the parks as it is against the by-laws.
Informal traders without permits must be removed from the area.
We want public consultation to be considered and our voices to be heard that enough is enough and we want our town back.
We call on our local government to act upon these matters and restore the quality of our environment and public spaces. Your intervention is necessary for the health and wealth of our town. Please sign this petition to support our cause.
