The Issue

We, the undersigned, call on social media platforms, toy manufacturers, and relevant authorities to take action against content that encourages, glorifies, or profits from the abuse, humiliation, or dehumanization of Black children.

Recently, videos and posts have circulated online in which Black “Natasha” dolls are used as props for ridicule, harassment, and racist jokes. In some cases, individuals have compared real Black children to these dolls or treated them as objects of amusement rather than human beings deserving of dignity and respect.

No child should be mocked, harassed, or dehumanized because of their race. Content that encourages such behavior contributes to a culture in which racist stereotypes are normalized and Black children are viewed as less deserving of empathy and protection.

We call on:

• Social media companies to remove content that promotes racial harassment, abuse, or dehumanization of children.

• Platform moderators to consistently enforce policies against racist content.

• Toy manufacturers and marketers to ensure products are not promoted in ways that encourage racial mockery or abuse.

• Governments and child-protection organizations to monitor and address incidents in which children are targeted for racist harassment online or in person.

Black children deserve safety, dignity, and respect. We urge decision-makers to take this issue seriously and act to prevent the normalization of racist abuse.

By signing this petition, we affirm that every child, regardless of race, deserves to be treated with humanity and protected from harassment, exploitation, and dehumanization.
