I belong to a place called VGN Mahalakshmi Nagar, THIRUVERKADU Chennai, the street pets are taken care by few animal lovers. There is a big opposition , people are abusing the feeders and as the government is not taking any action with regard to sterilization, we public are doing from our end as a team or as individuals. Without prior notice ,

 

It was on 23rd May 2023, Tuesday morning while it was a normal day for all, suddenly there came a vehicle, in which few dog catchers had come and taken the street dogs along with them....

These people didn't listen to the dog lovers/feeders who were stopping them... They had used rope to catch the dogs....

It was done under the supervision of some of the heads, who simply boasts about themselves. Even without knowing, what is happening, these heads were present here as well....

They even spread the rumour that, because
lot of people who have complained directly to Municipality on Dogs biting them, hence the action and he can't do much to stop them...also he was giving a list of people who have been bitten in various part of ML nagar and justified the action.

 As we all were shocked because of  the sudden, unusual action , without prior notice, and we didn't have any clue , when only Municipality representative, didn't know or didn't have a reply ....on Tuesday we got  thwarted information for our queries, and on the next day... Even that wasn't there.

We were tensed up, as we didn't get a proper information about these street pets' whereabouts.
We all were venting out our emotions among ourselves and with the support asked by Ramesh Kumar Sir of  URK Trust from Antony Rubin (  great animal lover, who is also the chairman of a Govt committee related to welfare of animals!)

They had taken the street pets for sterilization, as the people who were allocated for this work wasn't professional they caught many dogs even though they were sterilized.

No record was maintained.

Antony Rubin sir spotted them and shared their pics and also shared the location based on the investigation...
Last night a plan was made ,about  how to bring back them, URK Trust was generous and courteous enough to take few of the dog lovers who are feeding them in their vehicle to identify and  bring them back.

Yes, the rescue operation was successful.

While we all thought, that the problem is resolved, there was yet another challenge..... Few of the dogs were missing and some other dogs had also been brought to our MLNagar.

Now there is a chaos among the existing street dogs and the new dogs....

Why I am briefing all these things is that ....

To whomsoever it may concern 

1) follow the protocols, 
Don't do any such unpleasant things in the future .

2) we are people who know to love other creatures....for that reason we were following ahimsa.

3)  There is a big crowd of people who are animal lovers in our colony and we also know people who can lead us and guide us in such a crisis.

 4) Don't create any  menace without knowing the law against cruelty to animals, we don't mind sending people behind the bars, if any unwanted disgraceful act of cruelty happen to them.

5) The world and the media is just a click away.

6) Our MLNAGAR is a beautiful, calm place to live , not only for us for these voiceless creatures as well, we are ready to help the Govt and always want  to follow the law and rules, arrange for the ABC surgery camp in our colony, we are ready to bring them to you...

Let us find solutions and don't show  hatred.... They understand only one language, that is love language.
