Lets change the term "Mufti Day" as it's offensive to the Muslims........

The issue

Dear respected community members,

I humbly express my concern regarding the use of the term "Mufti Day" in our schools and workplaces.

As a valued member of this community, I believe that it is important to address this issue with sensitivity and respect.

It is my belief that the term "Mufti Day" has its roots in colonial history and is derogatory towards Muslims.

Its use reinforces negative stereotypes and contributes to the marginalization and discrimination of the Muslim community.

The term "Mufti Day" originated from the British colonial era in India, where it was used to describe a day when British colonial officers would dress in casual, non-uniform clothing. The term "mufti" was used to refer to Muslim scholars who were authorized to issue religious rulings.

As a society, we must strive towards inclusivity and respect for all individuals, regardless of their religion or ethnicity. Retiring the term "Mufti Day" and replacing it with a more inclusive alternative would send a powerful message of dignity and respect to the Muslim community.

I urge all of us to take action towards eliminating the use of the term "Mufti Day" and replacing it with a more appropriate alternative. Together, we can create a more inclusive and respectful community.

Additionally, if you share these concerns, I encourage you to sign the petition calling for the retirement of the term "Mufti Day" in our schools and workplaces.

By signing the petition, we can send a strong message of solidarity with the Muslim community and work towards creating a more inclusive and respectful society for all.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this important issue.
