Stop Using Single-Use Plastics

Stop Using Single-Use Plastics
The Issue
Plastic waste is present everywhere. Recycling and beach cleanups are insufficient. Over the next ten years, businesses would like to substantially boost the production of plastic packaging, despite the fact that over 90% of all plastic created to date has not been recycled. The fact that 99% of plastics come from fossil fuels like oil is twice as worrying. With the pollution from its manufacture and the waste it produces, plastics are suffocating the environment.
In the Philippines, single-use throwaway plastic is an important cause of pollution. These single-use plastic items, which include but are not limited to sachet packs, bags, cutlery, cups, and PET bottles, come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are designed to be used just once before being discarded. According to GAIA, more than 163 million plastic sachet packets, as well as 48 million shopping bags and 45 million thin-film bags are used and disposed of daily in the country.
Let's petition our government to FORBID ALL SINGLE-USE PLASTIC USE. Together, let's end this abhorrent habit. Please, I implore you to sign and circulate this petition in order to build a brighter future for everyone who lives on our planet, including the various plants and animals and not just us humans.
