Stop using Inuit stories for personal gain

Stop using Inuit stories for personal gain
The Issue
Now that the world has become more advanced in technology, and we can share stories around the world easier it is imperative that we have the correct people representing these stories and to tell them correctly.
Inuit are a strong people who have created our own stories to keep us safe from our harsh conditions and to keep our beliefs strong thought-out decades, our stories have been passed down from generation to generation and make us feel connected as a people. But now we have people trying to 'retell' our stories or change the narrative on what happens.
It is extremely important to keep our stories told from Inuit who know it and can keep our tradition strong. There is a producer who is trying to change the narrative on our stories and use it for personal gain without trying to connect with Inuit to make the story true/realistic.
This is dangerous for many reasons; it can set a negative example of our stories without knowing why it exists in the first place. It can also put a negative impact on where Inuit lived and how they survived from listening to these stories, it also takes away the Inuit itself when someone else tells the story without any mention or consultation on the matter.
Our stories are all we have now after the Residential schools, the dog slaughters, and the high suicide rates in Nunavut that all greatly impacted the size of our communities. It is important that we as Inuit keep our stories strong and get to share them ourselves with the world.
