I am writing this petition as a plea from the heart, as someone who has seen firsthand the devastating impact of unnecessary wars. My relatives live in war-torn countries and their lives are constantly disrupted by conflict. The fear, uncertainty, and loss they experience daily is unimaginable.

According to the Institute for Economics & Peace's Global Peace Index 2021 report, only 17 countries out of 163 surveyed are not involved in any conflict. This means that a staggering 90% of nations worldwide are engaged in some form of warfare (Institute for Economics & Peace). These conflicts often result from political power struggles or economic disputes rather than legitimate defense needs.

The human cost is immense. The United Nations estimates that over 70 million people have been forcibly displaced worldwide due to wars and conflicts. This includes my own family members who have had to leave everything behind due to violence.And some were too late to escape.

We must urge our leaders to prioritize diplomacy over aggression, peace over war. It's time we stop unnecessary wars worldwide and focus on creating a safer world for all its inhabitants - including my relatives living in fear every day.
