Stop Unlawful Sectioning Under the Mental Health Act

The Issue

This plea comes from a deeply personal and painful experience. Our child was unlawfully sectioned under the Mental Health Act by the healthcare system, leaving her living with unnecessary trauma. This blatant disregard for her welfare and the guideline breaches that enabled it must be urgently addressed. This petition isn't just about our family, it's about the countless others who may be silently suffering the same ordeal.

Social services are allegedly sectioning people without conducting proper assessments and adhering to the necessary guidelines. Tragically, such abuse of authority leads to serious ramifications, including children being overmedicated and inflicted with life-altering trauma. These hospitals entrusted with our mental health, are far from the safe havens they should be.

Another concerning issue is how the National Health Service (NHS) handles eating disorders which is causing more harm than good. It’s high time we analyse and address these flaws.

We need your voices to highlight this corruption and inappropriate use of power. Together, we need to change the system to respect and protect the mentally ill, particularly children. Our public outcry can put a stop to the unethical practice of petitioning for sectioning with just one signature.

By signing this petition, we ask for an urgent review into the sectioning conducted by social services and the way eating disorders are managed by the NHS. We aim to ensure every individual facing mental health challenges is treated fairly, humanely, and lawfully. Please sign this petition, and help other families like ours to prevent such inhumanities from happening.
