Last year, I was unjustly ticketed for parking on the "wrong" side of the street, It was the first of the month and not a single snowflake had fallen yet. This is a common issue faced by many residents of Haverhill, MA. Tickets are frequently issued when parking bans start even though no snow has touched the ground.

This practice is not only unfair but also seems to be a money grab for the city. There's no reason why residents shouldn't be able to park on both sides of the street without any snow present. It doesn't affect city operations in any way.

Once it starts snowing, we understand and agree that everyone should park on one side to make plowing easier. But until then, issuing tickets serves no purpose other than generating revenue at our expense.

We urge our local government officials to reconsider this policy and stop issuing tickets until there's actual snow on the ground that warrants such restrictions.
