Six hundred nurses at North Memorial Health's Maple Grove Hospital in Minnesota have been fighting for a fair contract for more than a year. Now they're being forced to vote on a strike — not just over pay or benefits, but because of alleged unfair labor practices targeting nurses who support their union.

The Minnesota Nurses Association says hospital leaders have committed multiple violations against union supporters during negotiations. These aren't minor disagreements at the bargaining table. They're actions that undermine nurses' legal right to organize and advocate for themselves and their patients.

This is happening at the same moment North Memorial Health has announced a major merger with Sanford Health, a South Dakota-based hospital system. As executives plan expansion and new facilities, the nurses who have spent their careers caring for Maple Grove patients deserve to have their rights protected — not violated.

North Memorial Health has said it is committed to "a positive working environment for our nurses," according to a hospital statement. But nurses say the reality at the bargaining table tells a different story. Words aren't enough. We're calling on North Memorial Health leadership to stop all unfair labor practices immediately and return to negotiations in genuine good faith.
