Hey everyone!
I hope you’re all doing well and thank you once again for your incredible support. It’s been amazing seeing so many of you stand behind this petition—together, we’re really pushing for change!

Now that we’ve got a growing community of supporters, I wanted to take a moment to dive a bit deeper into how credit scores affect insurance premiums. We already know it’s an unfair system, but here’s a clearer picture of what’s happening: even if you have a spotless driving record, your insurance premiums can skyrocket just because of your credit score. It’s frustrating to think that drivers who have never made a claim or had an accident could still face inflated premiums.

The Link Between Credit Scores and Insurance Premiums

Insurance companies argue that credit scores are a reliable predictor of claims, but this is highly controversial. The reality is factors like accident history and claims should determine risk—not your financial history. Why should someone’s financial difficulties lead to higher insurance costs?

How Much More Do People with Poor Credit Pay?

In the UK, people with bad credit pay on average 50% more for car insurance, even if they’ve never made a claim or had an accident. Meanwhile, drivers with good credit benefit from much lower premiums, even if they’ve had incidents in the past.

43% of drivers don’t even realise their credit score affects their premiums!
If you’ve got a poor credit score, you could be unfairly penalised with higher costs, even with a clean driving record.

Why Credit Scores Should Not Impact Insurance Premiums

Unrelated to Driving Risk: Your credit score reflects your financial situation, not your ability to drive safely.
Worsens Inequality: People with low credit scores already struggle to access affordable loans and credit cards—now, they’re also being hit with higher insurance premiums.
Lack of Transparency: Many insurers don’t explain how your credit score impacts your premiums, leaving you in the dark.

Share Your Story

Have you been hit by the car insurance credit score penalty? You’re not alone! Many drivers are facing unfair premiums due to financial difficulties that have nothing to do with their driving. We want to hear from you—share your story and help raise awareness.

By signing this petition, you can advocate for a fairer system where insurance premiums are based on how you drive, not on your credit score.

Thanks again for all your support—let’s keep this momentum going and continue pushing for change!
