The UK government's decision to increase most work and visit visa fees by approximately 15%, along with a staggering 20% hike in priority visas, study visas, and Certificates of Sponsorship, is deeply troubling. Of particular concern is the exorbitant rise in Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) fees, from £2,404 to £2,885. This increase, along with the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) rising from £624 to £1,035 per year for adults, places an unbearable financial burden on those wishing to build a life in the UK plus annual income to 38K

These fee increases, coupled with the proposed immigration policy changes under Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government – including the dramatic increase in the salary threshold for migrants and potential restrictions on NHS and social care visas – are nothing short of an attack on the principles of fairness and inclusivity that our country should uphold. These policies will not only marginalize skilled workers but also push families into deeper poverty and create unnecessary barriers to integration and contribution to our society.

The Tory government's approach, focusing on arbitrary financial thresholds and numbers rather than the real-life impact of these policies, is a disservice to the nation.
