STOP Twitter from blocking National Weather Service Automated Warnings! Save Lives!

The Issue

Twitter is attempting to control what life-saving warnings the National Weather Service can and cannot send!

Twitter has recently begun limiting (in short blocking) automated National Weather Service watches and warnings. The National Weather Service SPECIFICALLY stated that Tornado Warnings are at risk of not being sent. Yes, you read that correctly, Twitter is going to Block Tornado Warnings from being sent by the National Weather Service. This change affects EVERY American. Whether it is tornado warnings, severe thunderstorm warnings, fire watches, special weather statements, and even tsunami warnings; Twitter has begun blocking and limiting the amount of warnings able to be sent.

Twitter is effectively gambling the lives of every American.

A few extremely recent examples are listed below of how impactful this change is:

March 31, 2023: Tornado Emergency including Part of the Little Rock, Arkansas Metropolis where 350,000+ people were under the emergency. National Weather Service Emergency Tweet was viewed 242,000 times. ( https://twitter.com/NWStornado/status/1641885308957650945 )

March 24, 2023: Tornado Emergency including Rolling Fork and Silver City, Mississippi, where 11,000+ people were under the emergency. National Weather Service Emergency Tweet was viewed 145,000 times ( https://twitter.com/NWStornado/status/1639433187767238658 )
-Tornado Killed 16 people and injured 165 others.

April 1, 2023: Tornado Watch including all of Delaware, most of New Jersey, and parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania, where 11+ million people were under the tornado watch. National Weather Service Watch Tweet was viewed 196,000+ times. ( https://twitter.com/NWStornado/status/1642278032105963520 )
-An EF3 tornado with winds at least up to 140 miles per hour struck in the state of Delaware, where one person was killed.
