STOP Tulane One-Time Use Charges

STOP Tulane One-Time Use Charges
The Issue
The Tulane sustainability initiative is requiring a $2.50 charge on one-time use takeout in order to force the use of the “Reuse Pass” within the LBC. The one time use containers are already biodegradable, do not require you to pay fines for lost or broken PLASTIC dishes, and need not be returned when you are finished.
The introduction of this policy serves the sole purpose of forcing an unsuccessful drive towards the “Reuse Pass,” which has failed to create traction at Tulane for several valid reasons. The Reuse Pass is a poor, lazy attempt at change, and is now being forced as a policy because of it. Protecting the environment can be done in a way that prevents resent and unnecessary emotion.
