If you agree that the efforts to replace Joe Biden on the ballot being pushed by normally liberal and progressive media organizations are a really bad idea, please join me in saying so publicly by signing this petition.

Regular Democrats like me, and perhaps you, have almost no voice in this discussion. Many of us live in states and congressional districts where those who supposedly represent us won't speak for us because they're Republicans. I have absolutely no Democratic representation in Congress as a resident of the Florida Panhandle. And why should George Clooney's views be more important than ours just because he's a wealthy celebrity?

Sure, we can post on social media and comment on videos, but I don't think we'll have much effect unless we get a movement going and do it quickly. Please sign if you agree with me that continued efforts to replace President Biden are making the Democratic Party look as crazy and chaotic as the MAGA Republicans, and may well result in a Trump victory. Any potential replacement candidate — given that many whose names are being mentioned have already said they won't do it — won't have enough time to gain sufficient public recognition and support, and to raise enough money to win the November election less than four months from now.

It's my belief that we can only win if we get behind Joe Biden and stop this ridiculous and dangerous effort to replace him. Continuation of this hand-wringing and pearl-clutching about the debate will only drive voters away from the Democratic candidate, especially independents and anti-Trump Republicans who cite the chaos created by Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans as their reason for supporting the Democratic ticket.
