Greenbrier schools has put in Yondr pouches into our school system 6th-9th grade. They say cell phones are a massive problem with our learning. But if a student does not want to learn they wont learn, taking their phones from them is just going to lead them to do other things when they are bored or do not want to do school work. I have talked to so many students at my school and they all agree with me and agree with what I am doing. I am simply just the advocate for my fellow peers. By putting my cell phone into a Yondr pouch they are taking away every student's safety by not letting them have Immediate access to 911 or their parents. I agree that cell phones are not the best when the teacher is trying to teach 30 kids in a class but it all falls back on the student whether or not they want to learn, taking our cell phones is not the best option. Parents, how do you feel or how would you feel knowing that you cannot contact your child immediately? If there was a real emergency a student would not be able to go to the office to get their phone pouch unlocked. If we do not do anything now and do not stand up for what we believe in then the law will get passed about the pouches and the entire state of Arkansas will have there pouches in every school 6th-12th grade. When we graduate and leave school we will have the same struggles and responsibility we have now with our phones. We can either do our school work and pay attention or be on our phones, We can either do our real work in the real world or be on our phones and act like we are doing what we are suppose to do. Taking our phones away will take away a responsibility and something we have to learn to do by yourself in our own way, we will all have to learn self control at some point.
