Stop the Willow Project - Protect Our Environment

The Issue

The proposed Willow project is a massive oil and gas development in Alaska's North Slope that will have devastating impacts on our environment. The project involves drilling up to 250 wells, building pipelines, roads, and other infrastructure in an area that is home to endangered species like polar bears and caribou. We need to stop this madness, it is hurting our planet and animals.

This project will also contribute significantly to climate change by releasing millions of tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. According to a report by the Environmental Defense Fund, the Willow project could emit as much as 120 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent over its lifetime.

Furthermore, this project poses significant risks to Indigenous communities who rely on the land for their subsistence way of life. The Gwich'in people have already expressed their opposition to this development as it threatens their food security and cultural heritage.

We cannot allow this destructive project to move forward. We urge decision-makers at ConocoPhillips and government agencies like the Bureau of Land Management to prioritize environmental protection over short-term profits. Instead, we should invest in renewable energy sources that will create jobs while protecting our planet for future generations.
