We are taking our mandate to the IDP Meeting tonight.

Dear Supporters,

Since we began this petition, the situation in Ward 6 has moved from a "warning" to a documented collapse. We’ve faced long term electricity blackouts, a R24 million pylon funding gap, and a 60% water loss in our Metro—all while our maintenance budget was slashed by R400,000.

The most important update: My formal grievance sent on March 6th has been met with 45 days of silence from the Mayor’s office.

Tonight, that silence ends.

I will be attending the IDP (Integrated Development Plan) Meeting at 18:30 at Newton Park Primary. I am carrying our mandate—currently backed by 378 residents—to demand that our R100 million in annual rates is actually spent on our infrastructure.

How you can help in the next 4 hours:

  1. The Final Push: We are just 22 names away from 400 signatures. Please share the petition link one last time on your suburb WhatsApp groups: [Insert Link]

  2. Show Up: If you can, join me tonight at 18:30. There is power in numbers.

  3. Be Informed: I have prepared an IDP Fact Sheet
WARD 6 RESIDENTS' MANDATE: FACT SHEET FOR IDP MEETING
to ensure we all ask the same hard questions about the R241 million in unspent city grants.

Thank you for standing with me. We aren't just asking for the lights to be turned on; we are demanding the accountability we pay for every month.

See you tonight,

Janine Meyburgh Lead Petitioner
