The issue

Who is impacted?

Everyone who lives above the fifth floor, in a high-rise apartment building, on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

What’s at Stake?

Dramatic increased in general rate charges. The higher your apartment is in the building the more the rates cost. The rates have increased up to 48% per annum for some apartments this year.

Why act now?

The increase in rates will increase every year under the “view tax” methodology.  This petition is to have our rates calculated in a fairer and more equitable manner.

For example: using the Body Corporate “Lot entitlement” calculation to calculate rates.

We need to get the Gold Coast City Council to change its rates calculations for high-rise now.  Do not let it become the norm for rating.
