Stop the Use of Frisbee Golf in Weston Park, Weymouth Landing

The Issue

As a resident of Weymouth Landing, I have seen firsthand how our beloved Weston Park is being over-regulated and compartmentalized for sporting activities. The introduction of frisbee golf has further reduced the open space that remains in our park. This is a personal issue for me and many others who cherish this park as a place to relax, enjoy nature and spend quality time with family.

Weston Park is one of the few green spaces left in our community.  It's not just an area for sports but also serves as an important habitat for local wildlife. However, the increasing use of frisbee golf threatens to disrupt this delicate balance.

According to studies conducted by environmentalists, such activities can lead to soil erosion and damage native plant species (source: Environmental Impact Assessment Report). Moreover, it creates noise pollution which disturbs both residents and wildlife alike.

We are not against sports or recreational activities but believe there should be a balance between preserving natural spaces and providing areas for play. We propose that alternative locations be considered for frisbee golf where it would not impact negatively on existing green spaces or residential tranquility.

Let us protect Weston Park from becoming another casualty in the name of sport.  Sign this petition today to stop the use of frisbee golf in Weston Park!
