Stop the Unsolicited Distribution of Graphic Anti-Abortion Images
The Issue
PROTECT CHOICE: STOP UNSOLICITED GRAPHIC ANTI-ABORTION IMAGES
I'm starting a petition because I believe everyone should have the right to make their own personal and reproductive choices.
Recently, people in Saskatoon have been receiving unsolicited anti-abortion materials containing extremely graphic images. These images can be disturbing for adults, and children can also encounter them without warning when checking the mailbox or receiving mail at home.
I want to be clear: people have the right to their own beliefs and opinions about abortion. What I am asking for is reasonable protection from having extremely graphic images unexpectedly placed in our homes and communities.
Everyone deserves the freedom to make their own choices about their body, their pregnancy, and their future.
And everyone should have the choice about whether or not they are exposed to graphic imagery.
No one should have an extremely graphic image forced in front of them without warning.
I am asking residents of Saskatoon and Saskatchewan to support this petition and help bring this issue to the attention of our provincial government.
If you agree that people deserve choice, privacy, and freedom from unwanted graphic imagery, please share this post and support the petition.
If enough people sign it, the petition can be presented to the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly by an MLA, bringing the issue formally before the provincial government. It would ask the government to review the current rules around unsolicited graphic anti-abortion material and consider reasonable protections, such as warnings or ways to prevent people (especially children) from unexpectedly seeing graphic images. It would also make it clear that we support everyone’s right to make their own reproductive choices, while respecting freedom of expression.
❤️ Protect choice. Protect families. Respect reproductive freedom.
