Our family home at 785 Bismark Rd in Glendale has been a beacon of love and memories for three generations. My mother, a public school teacher, lived here nearly her entire life. This house was her major investment - every last penny she earned went into maintaining it. Now, a developer seeks to re-subdivide this property against previous city rulings and against the promises they made to our family.

The City of Glendale stated three times (two in person and one via email) that this lot could not be subdivided. This led my family to sell the house for less than what it would be worth if split into two lots. The developer who bought the land promised us they intended to build "one beautiful" house on it - a promise made while we were dealing with my mother's terminal ovarian cancer.

We believe that this developer misled us during an incredibly difficult time for our family, with intentions contrary to their words. It is unjust that someone with no relationship or commitment to our community stands to make substantial profit from such deception.

We call upon the City of Glendale and its residents: Do we wish to reward developers over lifelong residents? We urge you not only as concerned citizens but as people who value fairness and community spirit - reject the proposed approval of preliminary plat for 785 Bismark Rd re-subdivision plan. Stand up against deceitful practices that undermine trust within our community.
