In a time of grate hardship Lancashire and Burnley Councils still think it's a great idea to spend £6.5 million of the taxpayer's money on nothing more than an ego trip. 

Yes, the area could do with a tidying up but spending this amount of money when everyone is finding it hard to make ends meet is nothing more than a slap in the face.

Closing the subway, removing a roundabout and installing traffic lights is madness and will do nothing for traffic flow if anything it will just create traffic problems.

This development was obviously conceived before the cost-of-living crisis and now should be cancelled before any more money is spent on it no matter where this money is coming from. It is all derived from tax and should be spent with that in mind.
