Next Tuesday, October 24, 2017, from 5 PM - 6 PM, Evanston mayor Steve Hagerty will be joined by representatives from Northlight Theatre "to discuss plans for a performing arts center in downtown Evanston," according to a Facebook post about the event. The meeting will be held at 1012 Church street in Evanston.
The event post also states: "The event will be held in the new 1920s-style speakeasy, "Bourbon 'N Brass," located in the newly renovated "Evanston Rocks" complex at Owner Ron Onesti will also be on hand to discuss the new entertainment venue."
For those who are concerned about the (as yet not formally submitted) plan from private developer Farpoint, to demolish several buildings in order to build the "tower," this event will be a great means to voice those concerns. As far as I know, Northlight Theatre is not necessarily going to be housed in this new complex, so the meeting will be an important means to learn what the plan really is.
