Stop the tiny home project in Natomas
Stop the tiny home project in Natomas
The Issue
As a resident of Westshore in Sacramento, CA, I am deeply concerned about the proposed tiny home community on Arena Boulevard and El Centro Road. Our family-friendly neighborhood is cherished for its safety, tranquility, and sense of community. Introducing a tiny home development in this area threatens to disrupt the stability and security we have all worked hard to maintain.
The location of the proposed tiny home community is not suitable. It's essential to balance the needs of all residents, and situating such a development in a predominantly family-oriented area is not prudent. This project could potentially lead to increased traffic, noise, and a higher demand for public resources, altering the very fabric of our neighborhood.
Research and past experiences in other cities show that placing tiny home communities in family-centered neighborhoods can result in unforeseen consequences. For instance, a similar project in Los Angeles led to increased reports of safety concerns and complaints about local facilities being overstretched.
We acknowledge the need for affordable housing solutions in Sacramento and are not opposed to helping those in need. However, it's crucial to explore alternative locations that do not compromise the integrity of existing communities. Possible areas for consideration might include underutilized commercial zones or areas closer to public transportation hubs, where residents can access city services more conveniently.
I urge the city planners and stakeholders to reconsider this proposal and engage in a thorough evaluation of alternative sites. Together, we can find solutions that accommodate both the need for affordable housing and the preservation of our neighborhood's character.
Please sign this petition to voice our community's concerns and urge city officials to protect our neighborhood while addressing the city's housing needs responsibly. Your support is vital in ensuring that our community remains a safe and welcoming place for our families.
