The Issue

The proposed installation of a 20-metre-high 5G mast in our neighbourhood raises significant concerns that need urgent attention. The location chosen for this enormous structure is alarmingly close to residential homes and school floodlit football pitches. This decision threatens to disrupt the daily lives of residents, infringe upon the safety and well-being of our children, and mar the aesthetics of our beloved community.

Firstly, the proximity of the proposed mast to housing raises health and safety concerns. There is ongoing debate and insufficient long-term studies on the potential health effects of prolonged exposure to 5G radiation, especially for young children. While much research still needs to be done, it is prudent to adopt a precautionary approach, particularly when the health of residents is at stake.

Secondly, the mast's proximity to school football pitches poses additional risks. This area is frequented by children and families for recreational activities, and the presence of such an imposing structure may significantly detract from the safe and enjoyable environment we currently cherish. Children have the right to play and grow in spaces free from towering infrastructures that could overshadow their play areas and potentially pose physical risks.

Moreover, this development will likely cause a visual blight on the landscape. Our community prides itself on its appearance and maintaining the character and charm that makes it a home. A giant mast in the midst of this would drastically alter the skyline and may even affect property values.

We propose reconsidering the location of the 5G mast, demanding that it be relocated to a non-residential area, where it would not infringe upon public spaces or pose health and safety risks. Such a decision would balance technological advancement with community well-being and preserve the integrity of our neighbourhood.

We call upon the local councils, planning committees, and telecommunication companies responsible for the decision-making to heed the concerns of the residents. Hear our voice, reconsider the current plans for the installation, and ensure that our community remains a safe, beautiful, and healthy place to live.

Please sign this petition to protect our community from the installation of this 5G mast in our residential area. Your support can make a difference.
