STOP THE STINK AT POLYETHICS INDUSTRIES

STOP THE STINK AT POLYETHICS INDUSTRIES
The Issue
The odour being emitted by Polyethics at Forest Avenue North and Atherley Road is unacceptable. Living in Orillia, Ontario, we are subjected to offensive odours emanating from a nearby plastics manufacturing plant. It produces plastic products with a "lavender" scent and also a "fresh" scent. Many have described these scents as the smell of very strong fabric softener. These odours pour out from the facility most days. This not only affects our quality of life and our mental and physical well-being but also raises concerns about potential health risks associated with prolonged exposure to such smells.
Many residents are unaware of how they can make formal complaints to the Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks (MECP) regarding this issue. By informing and empowering our community with this knowledge, we can collectively take action and demand better air quality standards.
Make your complaints to sales@polyethics.com and copy representatives at the Ministry of the Environment (jordan.c.beatty@ontario.ca, brad.allen@ontario.ca, rachael.fletcher@ontario.ca) Environment Minister (todd.mccarthy@pc.ola.org), your MP, your MPP and all those who have the power to make a change. Below is a template you can use to send your complaint. Please provide as much detail as possible regarding the level of smell observed, your location the duration of the scenting and how this affects your enjoyment of your property and activities.
