Stop The Spread of hate towards those different than you
Stop The Spread of hate towards those different than you
The Issue
For those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, it is already hard enough to come to terms with yourself and accept that that is just who you are. With phobia towards the community increasing the behavior towards the people in the community has a grand effect on how they live their lives. Constant hate crimes are committed, Biased behavior in work places as well as in educational settings, Laws made specifically against the community. It is hard for one who represents themselves as part of the community to feel sure and safe with all of these things still happening.
Helping make a change in this problem will help bring equality and peace for everyone. No one should live life feeling unsure of who they are because of the discrimination they face for being themselves. Mental health disorders are more commonly found in those who are part of the community and due to unfair treatment they do not receive the help that they need. Not only that but thoughts of suicide and suicide rates in general are very increased in the community due to the hate faced daily. In research given, it is said that about 46% of teens in the LGBTQ+ community ranging from the ages of 13 to 17 have considered attempt of suicide in the past year.
We are all people in this world and acknowledging the struggles of others and helping make a change in it by spreading awareness and educating people on the fact that hate and violence should never be the response for someone being different than you is the least that can be done.
