Quarrying, Crushing and Hauling Skate at Newtyle Hill
The agents for Mills Contractors have resubmitted their plans, six months after PKC planners categorically rejected the plans as being incompatible with the Local Development Plan. Despite this the applicants have had the first phase of the planning application validated by PKC. Yet again they are progressing this as a two stage application, starting with the proposed siting of the mobile crushing and screening equipment. No neighbourhood notifications were issued despite the planned works being immediately behind residential properties.
For over three years the neighbourhood and community fought against these plans that would destroy the natural environment and ecology, cause significant harm to health, create risks of landslide and flooding and cause danger on the roads.
The quarrying and crushing of slate releases Silica dust which causes devastating illnesses including Silicosis, Lung Cancer, COPD and Kidney Disease. Silicate dust particulates can travel long distances and can be ingested without warning.
The new application reference is 26/00510/FLL  - Siting of Mobile Crusher and Screener and we are asking you to kindly consider registering an objection through the PKC planning portal or submitting an objection in writing to PKC planning team.
