Stop the Sale & Redevelopment – Preserve Our Community Heritage

To: The Diocese of Manchester & The Diocesan Board of Finance

I strongly object to the proposed transfer and potential sale of Bishop’s Lodge (Old Rectory) in Worsley. This historic building has been an integral part of our parish and community since 1850. Its sale for redevelopment would not only erase a vital part of our local heritage but also deprive residents of an opportunity to repurpose it for much-needed community use.

We urge the Diocese to:
✅    Reconsider the sale and explore community-led alternatives.
✅    Work collaboratively with local residents to ensure the building serves its original purpose.
✅    Retain the Old Rectory for the benefit of the Worsley community, rather than allowing it to be lost to private development.
