As a rational citizen, and the voice of the neighborhood, and maybe the city as a whole, I am deeply concerned with the widespread use of mind-altering substances within our city limits. This is not just an issue for me, again as I speak for everybody, but for all people who know that the sale of these substances leads to bad things.

Lately, I've noticed another petition going around, and in MY OPINION, it doesn't go far enough! These people don't want a dispensary in their neighborhood, which is a totally rational and well-informed opinion in 2023 (we've all seen Reefer Madness by now), but what about other substances?? 

Right across the street from this location, is a drive-thru alcoholic beverage establishment. How is this okay?!?! Sure, consuming these beverages while driving a motor vehicle is illegal, but holding drivers accountable just doesn't go far enough. We obviously need to SHUT THIS DOWN. 

Just down the street is ANOTHER alcoholic beverage establishment, Pints & Punts, formerly the RED FOX. I have reason to believe that sometimes people leave this place after consuming alcoholic beverages, and operate motor vehicles. Again, holding drivers who break the law accountable for their actions isn't enough! SHUT THE BUSINESSES DOWN!!!!

And then we go further and there's places that sell caffeinated beverages!! Dunkin' Donuts, Blue Door, Molly Brown's, etc. Have you ever seen somebody who's all hyped up on coffee aggressively driving through our neighborhoods?? Always in a hurry! Think of the children!!! Not to mention, they may see people consuming these beverages and will then want to try them themselves. Do you really expect me to tell my kid "no," or have a conversation with him about how some things are for adults only and not for kids?? Have you ever tried to reason with a child?! The only solution is obviously to completely shelter my child from all of these evil temptations.

How about these PILL-PUSHERS at CVS and Klein's Pharmacy?? Some of the substances they sell also cause mental and physical impairment - can YOU be certain that these druggies aren't popping their little pills in the pharmacy parking lot before they drive through our neighborhoods?? Are we supposed to just let people decide to use these drugs, simply because they were prescribed by a doctor, without involving ourselves?? We have to stop this!!!!

Obviously, the only solution is to outright ban the sale of all mind-altering substances in The Falls. I don't personally agree with the use of any of them, therefore we should change the laws and shut down all of these businesses. It's the only way we can keep our children safe. Like D.A.R.E. says, "JUST SAY NO!"

Not to mention, think of how great for property values the vacant empty buildings will be! After all, a study from the REBSA shows that empty buildings reduce crime by 6%. The vacant Ponderosa we have is already great, as well as the strip mall and supplement store with the water machines, but just imagine if we had EVEN MORE empty buildings to admire! Maybe they could even all be turned into churches, that way the buildings could be used for something that never caused any harm to anybody, anywhere, ever.

Please sign this petition if you too are concerned that ANY mind-altering substances are dangerous to our neighborhoods and our children, and would prefer to look at empty run-down buildings than have a single business that I don't personally agree with IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!
