CBC News went to the park to speak with community members regarding their opinions on the renovations the city is planning for the park.

Community members are not opposed to upgrading the park with more paved trails and adding more picnic spaces, they just don’t want a road going through the park as it’s essentially to have the space for dogs to roam. Space is needed for all dog who are in training, senior, have disabilities, or those who can get overwhelmed at small parks due to the amount of activity. This also includes the dog owners who also can have sensory problems. Having this space is crucial for animals and humans that can get overwhelmed, over stimulated is large group settings.
