

Stop the Rezoning at Linda Drive & Agency Street in Eagle Lake, MN (B-1 → R-4)
The Issue
We, the residents of Eagle Lake, Minnesota, strongly oppose the proposed rezoning of the property at the corner of Linda Drive and Agency Street from B-1 (Neighborhood Business) to R-4 (Multi-Family Residential).
Our neighborhood is a quiet, family-oriented area of single-family homes. The proposed change would allow two 8-plex apartment buildings, increasing density and traffic in a location not designed for it.
Why we’re concerned:
• Traffic & Safety: Added vehicles mean congestion and risks for pedestrians, school buses, and cyclists.
• Infrastructure Strain: Existing water, sewer, and stormwater systems were not built for high-density use.
• Neighborhood Character: Large multi-unit buildings don’t fit the surrounding homes or small-town feel.
• Property Values: Dense construction can depress values of nearby single-family homes.
• Environmental Impact: More pavement increases runoff and drainage/flooding problems.
We respectfully ask city leaders to:
Deny the rezoning request from B-1 to R-4.
Require full impact studies (traffic, infrastructure, environmental) before any zoning change.
Engage residents in future land-use discussions affecting this neighborhood.
Eagle Lake values responsible growth. Please protect the integrity, safety, and character of our neighborhood.
