Stop The Rent Hikes at Public Storage Located on 4140 Cherry Ave, Long Beach, CA
The Issue
Since December 9, 2008, I have been a tenant at Public Storage, renting unit #1219, a small 5'x 5' space. What started as a manageable $31 per month has over time turned into an unbearable burden due to excessive rent increases. Within just a month, the rental fee jumped to $63.81, and within two months, it spiked to $86.00. By March 10, 2010, approximately 15 months after my initial signing, it had reached $90.00. Over the following years, the trend continued, with rental costs soaring as high as $122.00 per month. I've witnessed an overall increase of 294% over the course of approximately 10 years.
It feels like an enormous hardship, a very hard pill to swallow, to be exploited in such a manner. As a consumer, I have rights, and I believe it is essential for everyone, including Public Storage customers, to be treated fairly and not be subjected to arbitrary prices hikes that seem to border on price gouging.
I am sharing my story not just for myself, but for all consumers facing similar situations. Unjustifiable rent hikes force long-term clients to bear the burden of unreasonable expansion costs. This is not just a personal issue, it's an issue affecting all tenants of Public Storage in Long Beach, CA, and potentially across the nation.
We demand that Public Storage examine its pricing policies and put an end to these excessive rent increases. Together, let's stand up against unfair business practices.
Sign this petition to join the fight for fair rental prices at Public Storage.
