Petition Update:
The next two weeks are a critical window for the renaming of Yonge-Dundas Square. Despite Chris Moise’s adamance that the signage be removed (which it was two weeks ago), the YDS board has put forth a plan that will require hundreds of thousands of dollars in not just sign production, but also a “re-education” campaign. The costs associated with this flawed re-naming initiative are increasing and causing an unnecessary diversion of municipal resources to an initiative the vast majority of Torontonians do not want.
CALL TO ACTION: On Tuesday, June 18th, the Executive Committee will be hearing civilian deputations on the renaming plan – and we MUST COME OUT IN FORCE to show City Councillors that we will not tolerate this. The creators of this petition will also be there ready to face city hall. Please sign up to either attend in person and make a deputation, or submit a comment to the Executive Committee that you demand a STOP to the renaming of all things Dundas, and a return to good governance and financial stewardship.

Also, on June 26th, at the next Council meeting Chris Moise will put forth several motions to expedite the renaming. Please contact your local city councillor and tell them you do not support this.
