WE CAUSED AN EARTHQUAKE AT CITY HALL
On June 18th, we attended the Executive Committee meeting at City Hall to depute on the renaming of Yonge-Dundas Square. Armed with an overwhelming amount of evidence on how this process was flawed from the beginning, we made our case on why this renaming debacle should end once and for all. We wanted to demonstrate what the people of Toronto expect from their representatives: Fiscal responsibility, transparency, and integrity.

Do you feel that the Executive Committee respected us?
Councillors Perks, Fletcher, Moise and Colle interrupted, dismissed, and even insulted us. This is no way to treat the legitimate concerns of citizens and was a telling indicator of the culture inside Mayor Olivia Chow’s City Hall. A culture where hardworking citizens who come to provide honest and passionate testimony are yelled at, insulted, and dismissed. Disappointing behaviour for elected representatives.
It’s time we admit that this is bigger than Yonge & Dundas Square. This is about a culture of arrogance and entitlement at City Hall. This is about bureaucrats ignoring the concerns of citizens. This is about historical revisionism, smearing names, and reckless spending.
Email your councillor. Express your displeasure. Post and tag them. Keep up the pressure. This is but one battle in what will be a long marathon to the next election in October 2026.

Let’s make them hear us.
