Stop the removal of vehicle lanes and replacement with bike only lanes

The Issue

Petition to End  La Crescenta Avenue Lane alternative plan 1, removal of right hand traffic lanes and replacement with bike only lane.

We want alternative 2, shared bike lane, keeping existing vehicle lanes.

Petition summary and background
The proposed reduction of traffic lanes from four to two on La Crescenta Avenue will remove one lane of travel in each direction between Montrose Avenue and Verdugo Road. La Crescenta Avenue is a main arterial boulevard that allows people and goods to move successfully across town, and to travel to both downtown Montrose and Glendale. This lane reduction would hamper the purpose of this street and impair its use by causing traffic gridlock, longer commute times, and increased pollution from idling cars, as well as hindering the movement of emergency vehicles and resident evacuation in emergencies. Spillover traffic will affect the surrounding streets and neighborhoods. Many residents were not notified prior to the city council vote to remove lanes. we want a say in what happens here. Action petitioned for:
We, the undersigned residents of the area affected by this lane reduction, present to the City Council of the City of Glendale this petition and, in order to promote safety and ease of movement within the city, request the City Council act now to stop the proposed lane reduction of La Crescenta Avenue between Montrose Avenue and Verdugo Road.
