Stop the Removal of Therapy Dog, Fin, from Our School

The Issue

Our beloved therapy dog, Fin, is at risk of being removed from our school by the superintendent, Ms. Davenport. Serving as more than merely a pet, Fin has become an invaluable part of our emotional wellbeing and everyday routine at school.

Seeing Fin gleefully walk into a room fills our hearts with joy and comfort. The opportunity to pet him or even watching him lay next to someone who is feeling down instantly brightens our day and improves our mental health.

Despite all these, Ms. Davenport claims that Fin does nothing for us. This is far from the truth. According to the American Kennel Club, therapy dogs can decrease stress and provide a sense of connection in difficult times. They indeed play a vital role in enhancing social, emotional, and cognitive functioning among students.

It's time to bring these facts into the light and stand against the decision to remove Fin from our school. His contribution to the emotional health of students cannot be underestimated and should not be easily dismissed. Let's ensure that Fin continues to cheer our days and provide comfort in times of need. Please, sign this petition and let's make our voices heard in support of Fin's continued presence in our school.
