Stop the removal of a kind and gentle homeless man living in the park.

Stop the removal of a kind and gentle homeless man living in the park.
The Issue
There aren’t many resources on the Northwest Side of Chicago for the homeless. I have been this man’s friend now for over 3 years. He loves candy so I call him Candyman. He bothers no one and some neighbors have come together to say they want him removed because they can’t take their kids to the park because of the homeless man. (Candyman is no where near the playground) Another says my kids just want to ask questions about the tents and they don’t need to see these things! They should, it’s called mental health! Teach children STOP sweeping under the RUG. Another says trying to sell their home they can’t because he’s there.
That isn’t stopping from selling your home. Crime is what is stopping from selling your home. Chicago and on the Northwest side particularly doesn’t have the resources for homeless to go. There is 1 and it’s a 25 min drive from the Northwest side. How do the homeless get there?
Please help me help him give him more time to keep working with him. He is not a addict, he doesn’t drink or do drugs. He is a happy young black man with a smile that will light a room. He’s a human being who just needs more time. Homelessness can take years to get someone the help. We can’t give up when something looks bad. We need as a society fix the issue before it already is a issue. Please sign this petition to leave Candyman in what he calls his home in Merrimac Park. He feels safe here this is where he knows all of those who help him as family. Please he’s a human being.
